Unite Community campaigns for a fairer social security system for all, which works to end poverty, and which allows claimants to live with dignity.

Because we know the current system is brutal and hard to navigate, we try to provide 1-2-1 support and a listening ear for our members claiming benefits wherever possible. This is NOT benefits advice, but mutual aid and solidarity between members, helping each other out.

We have a group of Unite Community members across the region who are able to help fellow members find the support and advocacy needed when you are claiming benefits. You can find out more about how this works, here.

If you are claiming benefits, and would like support from a Unite Community member, please get in touch with Mick or call 07718 666742.

If you are interested in helping provide Welfare Rights support and advocacy to other Unite members (training is available), please contact Heather. We welcome members from all parts of the region, but we particularly need people in Doncaster, Huddersfield and Calderdale and the Humber – so if this is you, please consider getting involved!
